This month, I was invited to the estate of the owner of Nikita Hair. Nikita Hair is one of Europe’s largest, and leading chain of hair salons, with over 150 salons worldwide, and has been in business for over 30 years. They’ve recently decided to expand their outreach to the United States, opening their first location in the US, specifically Boca Raton, FL.
Myself and a few other beauty influencers were invited to Inger Ellen Nicolaisen’s estate in Boca Raton, FL. for a day full of FUN, laughs and multiple GEMS. I knew I would be surrounded by absolutely fabulous women so I made sure to wear my favorite print ‘cheetah’, decided to break in some new heels from Nasty Gal (bad idea by the way) and wore my all time favorite lipstick Ruby Woo.
I’m always so excited to be in the presence of people who have been successful in their entrepreneur endeavors and soaked up every piece of information Inger fed us. When we arrived, we were greeted with lanyards with our name and business, along with a refreshing drink (Because, HOT).
Let me just stay the estate was BEAUTIFUL. Immediately, I felt so welcomed and embraced by all of the ladies there.
From here we were led into her in-home movie theater (#GOALS) where Inger formally introduced us to the Nikita Hair brand. Let me just say, Inger is SO MUCH FUN! She is outspoken, inspiring and motivating. For someone who has achieved so much success (earning various awards and prizes for her leadership skills, including: ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ and ‘The Art of Leading’ (‘Kunsten å lede’) award. She was also recognized as ‘Business Woman of the Year’ in Norway) she is so incredibly humble.
We had a chance for a Q & A with Ingram. Mostly, I soaked in the knowledge from her answers to other questions that were asked. But I really wanted to hear how she continued to stay in business for SO long and continue to be SO successful. I asked her “What was the hardest part of entrepreneurship?” and you want to know what she said?
That struck a cord with me, so often I see people say they want to go into entrepreneurship because they want ‘freedom of time’, or maybe they just think you wake up one day, risk it all, and magically a million dollars will show up in their bank account. IT DOES NOT WORK LIKE THAT. Usually it’s just the opposite, you will have high days and you will have low days, and some days they all combine together. Being lonely is also one of the lows of entrepreneurship, 9 times out of 10, people aren’t going to see the vision that you see for yourself and they’re not meant to. BUT, if it’s something you really want it’s the passion that will keep you going.
To know that someone who has achieved so much dared to be vulnerable by admitting that was power in itself. Immediately I felt motivated to continue growing my brand and setting on this ‘lonely’ path of entrepreneurship. After all, Kanye West did say the top is so lonely.
After Q & A, we were lead to her kitchen area where a beautiful brunch was prepped for us along with champagne.
In true Boca style, a limousine shortly arrived to escort us to the Nikita Hair Salon. The salon is ABSOLUTELY beautiful, located right in the heart of Boca Raton, I can tell this salon will be VERY successful.
We had a chance to view models who were styled for the event and test out a few of their products. What I love about Nikita Hair’s products is that they use ingredients from Scandinavia which incorporate that personal touch from the founders hometown.
This was a perfect Sunday. I walked away inspired and motivated to know that it IS possible. I have no doubt that NikitaHairUSA will be a household name in the United States over the next few years. How exciting!
By the way, they are having a summer special of $39 for a wash & dry. You can also buy two full size hair products and get a travel sized product for free. For appointments, call: 561-362-7102.
