Hey loves! If you follow me on social media, then you’ll know what I was busy doing pretty much all day yesterday: Networking my ASS off! Yes, yesterday, I was so very fortunate to be invited to the #NuYouMiami Brunch which also featured Giorgio Armani Beauty Products. I was invited as press so that I may do a feature on the event here on RozeGold.Com! This event showcased and highlighted tons of vendors ranging from jewelry, magazines, nail techs, masseuses, and artists! I had an absolute BLAST!
First off, let me say that I love events that are all about empowering one another. In a world that’s constantly comparing people to others, it was so refreshing to be in an environment of encouraging and uplifting one another. The itinerary was as follows:
I went to this event by myself, and I’m happy that I did. It definitely allowed me to work the room more and meet more people instead of being ‘cliqued’ up (which you tend to see a lot of at networking events). Later this week, I will be doing a post on ‘How to Network Like A BOSS’, because to get anywhere, no matter what you want to do, that’s a skill that every entrepreneur needs in their back pocket!
Let me just say: This event made me so hungry to really go hard with RozeGold.Com! Just to even see the potential of where my business could grow to, and how there is a ‘white space’ (a place in your market that no one has covered the way that YOU can), as the panelists would describe it, has left me just ready to work! I’m excited to really take things to another level. Once I changed my way of thinking, God has truly been blessing me with an abundance of blessings (that’s a whole ‘nother post in itself).
It’s all about thinking that you deserve good things, and GREAT things will come to you.

Valuable Takeaways from the Panel Discussion:
1. Being an entrepreneur takes SELF-DISCIPLINE!
-No one is going to wake you up and tell you to be great, to send those e-mails, to start a business, to follow up with clients etc. You have to be self-motivated to do that yourself because no one else is going to do it for you!
2. Network only equals Networth if your Network has VALUE!
– Too often, when people are trying so hard to get their business off the ground, they get excited about every opportunity, or every person that they meet. And the truth is, every person that you meet is not always an ASSET but a LIABILITY to your success. You must know how to discern who is who so that you may drop the dead weight to move forward in your career.
3. Learn what makes you authentic and how to monetize that. THAT’s where you start your business.
Too often, I have people come up to me and ask me about starting a business, what do they need to do so, etc. My first question to them is ‘How passionate are you about this?’ too often, people see the glitz and the glam of starting a business that they forget there’s actually hard work: blood, sweat, and tears that go into this. If you can’t decipher what sets you apart from the competition…you have no business in that field of business. Do something that you love, and that you can do the way that no one else can, THAT’s how you will be successful!
4. It doesn’t mater what you’ve been through. What’s for you will ALWAYS be yours.
Stop worrying about timing. Nobody can be you, and that is your greatest gift! The owner of FingaLickin in Miami shared her story about how she had been back stabbed, messed over, made poor decisions in business AND in life, but yet, God still favored her. Truth is, the business was always hers for the taking, she just had to go through some things to get what was rightfully hers! That way, she would cherish the business more, and be a wiser business woman!
5. Walking away and giving up are two different things.
Michael Hall (a fellow Seminole) put this into words perfectly, saying:
‘Just because you’ve walked away from a relationship, or a business, or a partnership doesn’t mean you gave up. You still have everything you need to be successful, but just not with those circumstances.’
A few photos I took from the event:
