Am I the only one that’s trying to figure out where the hell 2016 has gone? In a few days, we will be entering into the last quarter of 2016. And if you aren’t already planning for your 2017, you’re behind. But the good news is there’s still time to catch up and get on your game. Which is exactly why I’ve written this blog post, for you. If you feel like you haven’t accomplished much this year and you know that SOMETHING has to change for 2017, keep reading..
Maybe you want to start a new business venture and you haven’t completely been able to get it off the ground. Maybe you want to lose weight, or maybe you just want to be healthier mentally and spiritually. First, let me tell you: NOTHING HAPPENS OVER NIGHT. It will take time to get to where you want to be. But I promise you’ll be stuck in the same spot this time next year if you don’t begin planning now.
‘Well how do I do that? I have to much on my mind, I don’t even know where to start!’ I’m glad you asked! The trick is to PLAN and to dream big, while starting small.
This is the trick I use that has helped me reach goals in my career and my personal life as well.
Imagine where you see yourself in the next 5 years…Write it down.
Now, logically think of what you will need to get done in 2017 to get there. Break your goals down on a year by year basis.
Once you have that down packed, now you can break your yearly goals down into monthly goals, and then your monthly goals by weekly goals.
I’ll share one example that I have:
In the next 5 years I want to grow the Roze Gold brand and be seen as an expert in the beauty and fashion arena. In 2017 I want to launch RozeGold.Com’s Accessories site.
From there, I figured out each step needed to launch my site:
Steps to Launch:
– Create Social Media Campaign
– Purchase Inventory
– Find A Designer
– Get Started With Work On The Site (Round One, Round Two Round Three)
– Create Copy For All SKUs
– Create A Business Plan, etc.
This is not even half of what must be done, but they are key elements into what I need to do to have a successful launch. From there, I break those goals down to even smaller goals to achieve. Personally, this was my plan for the last quarter of 2016 as I want to launch in early January. And to be honest, most of these items I have already knocked off my to-do list. Which is exactly why I say if you haven’t started planning, you’re already behind. When you have everything written out plain and clear, it’s much easier to not only hold yourself accountable, but to get started early.
Thinking of the broad-spectrum of your goals, plans, dreams, etc. can get extremely overwhelming. Once I learned this method of breaking down my goals, almost down to the very minute. I feel more in control of my destiny and I know that I am ALWAYS doing my due diligence, and never feel like I’m falling behind or not taking initiative.
As The Bible Says: Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, so he may run that reads it. ‘Habakkuk 2:2’
What does this mean? It means that God will not disappoint the believing expectations of those who wait to hear what he will say unto them. All are concerned in the truths of God’s word. Though the promised favour be deferred long, it will come at last, and abundantly recompense us for waiting.
