Currently, I work in a corporate office. My role here is complicated to say the least, but to sum it all up I market products for different clients (the main goal is customer engagement). Graduating with a degree in Fashion Merchandising and Product Development this is not only a perfect entry-level career but it also has taught me so much about engaging with consumers that I did not know before (Life is always a learning experience). Any-who..we get these e-mails everyday called “What’s New” in which the Product Team sends everyone the new products, lines, or brands that we are bringing on the site across all platforms. Long story short..I opened this e-mail and came across a designer named Lauren Cecchi New York. I fell in love immediately! The products in the e-mail caught my eye and I just had to see more..so I began to do a little bit of research on her. Now I’m bringing her to you guys! It’s always dope to see new designers emerge in a major way and I know that she will be a force to be reckoned with in the years to come (look out Michael Kors, Kate Spade, and Tory Burch!)
Lauren Cecchi is only 26 years old and launched her first Spring/Summer collection just last year in 2014. Since then, Lauren has been featured in USA Today, Cosmopolitan, Self Magazine, and the Zoe Report. This brand is a luxury leather handbag line crafted in New York City’s Garment District. The fact that Lauren is dedicated to producing her items in America instead of overseas is a big thumbs up for me! When you buy her bags you can feel like you actually contributed to the U.S economy instead of giving to others.
Lauren has traveled the world and studied fashion and business to ensure that she knows the ins and outs of the global fashion and international business industry before launching her line. Learning to sew at a young age from her Italian grandmother, Lauren always knew that she was born to create! Within only one year of announcing her collection, Lauren Cecchi has held trunk shows at some of the most luxurious boutiques, including Henri Bendel on 5th Avenue in New York City, Splash Boutique at the Loews Hotel Miami Beach, Blue 1 Bridgehampton, NY and 3NY in SoHo.
One thing that is important to me is the fact that these designs are something that you can wear everyday. The signature three ribs on each bag reminds me of the equivalent to the quilting on a Chanel bag. The handles on some of her bags adjust from short to long like a shoulder tote or even a cross-body messenger bag. Lauren Cecchi designs are simple, versatile, and very wonderfully handcrafted. Easily the most versatile handbag I’ve seen in a while. Classy, graceful, and certainly a staple piece that I’m sure every women will have in their closet within the next 5 years! I can’t wait to see more from new designer Lauren Cecchi!

“While most handbags and accessories are produced overseas, I wanted to ensure that my bags are made in America. I am glad to be able to give back to my community and help create jobs here in New York while the economy continues to recover,” says Cecchi. “I’ve always been inspired by the vibe and atmosphere of the Garment District, and this collection combines my love for fashion, the Garment District and New York as a whole.” Lauren Cecchi
